Tequila is an absolute sweetheart! This 2020 Paso Fino/Quarter Horse mare is sound, sane, gentle, and exceptionally low-maintenance. An easy keeper with a kind disposition, she has limited trail experience and rides politely even after extended time off. Still considered green broke, Tequila is best suited for a confident rider willing to further her education. A darling little mare with so much to offer!
Tequila is unregistered, but because she was born locally (Callands, VA) we know that she is half Paso Fino and half Quarter Horse. She is a 2020 baby and is just a baby doll. She's had some limited trail experience and I have no doubt a confident rider could take her on a camping trip in the mountains with zero complaints from her. She has mostly been sitting while we have owned her, but we saddled her up on October 20th, 2026 after sitting in the field for months and she rode around like a polite young lady. We are still going to sell her as green broke, because she will need a confident rider to get her going before she can be of benefit to a rider who is not so confident.
Tequila is HEALTHY and 100% SOUND.
We've owned her since January 2025 and she has been among the LOWEST MAINTENANCE horses we've owned:
- totally fine to go barefoot, although we did shoe her on October 20th in preparation for this listing. This was her first set of shoes with us and she stood like a dream for the farrier.
- basic exam and vaccinations administered on October 20th, no negative findings and the veterinarian agrees with her age as being born in ~2020.
- easy to catch and handle, no matter the circumstance
- no history of colic, choke, abscesses, etc.; she has never had a sick day or a lame day in our ownership
- fat on forage alone
- grows a naturally thick winter coat and requires no blanketing with sufficient resources (shelter, forage)
SOUND - SANE - GENTLE - KIND
What more could you want? You cannot go wrong with this little mare.
