You cannot go wrong with this guy, truly! He might be small but he'll take up all of your leg and then some. He's sturdy enough to carry many larger adults comfortably. Don't knock him until you sit on him!
- crosses water of varying depths and speeds without fuss
- happy to lead the group or follow behind, does not have a preference of position
- easy keeper and completely healthy; he has never been lame, always barefoot, always on the fat side, and gets along with everyone.
- he catches you: he'll meet you at the gate and if you sneak by him, he'll be your helper the whole time
- excellent manners off-site and on-site; has been off-site without incident
- happy to move cows around (but certainly not a cutter)
- has lived with and is accustomed to seeing pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, a camel, zonkey, water buffalo, and more. He's not bothered by any of it.
- helicopter ears: Roger's ears are almost never not flopping around in circles. He's happy as could be in every situation.
Plug and play: this dude's ideal job is to tick along a trail with his friends in some form! He'd be a super cute foxhunt mule, I have no doubt you could hunt off of him (though we haven't tried him around guns), he'd be fine to do shows or arena work also but he's no athlete and I don't suspect he'd really enjoy becoming one. He'd love a herd of kids to torture him - I mean, dote on him - as long as they let him get a few snacks!
